John C. May is President, Chief Operating Officer, a position he has held since April 2019. May is responsible for leading Deere & Company's efforts to maximize operational excellence throughout the company.
Prior to his current role, May served as President, Worldwide Agriculture & Turf Division with responsibility for the Americas and Australia; the global harvesting, turf and utility, and crop care platforms; and the intelligent-solutions group. He previously served as the company's Chief Technology Officer and as President, Agricultural Solutions. In addition, May has experience in Deere's Worldwide Construction & Forestry Division having served as factory manager at the John Deere Dubuque Works. In other roles, he was Vice President, Global Turf & Utility Platform and as Managing Director of Deere's China operations during a period of significant growth. May joined the senior management team in 2012 and started with the company in 1997.
Prior to joining John Deere, May was a management consultant at KPMG Peat Marwick.
May graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Hampshire and received an MBA from the University of Maine.
